Apart from my work as a software developer and maintainer, I teach seminars about the technology I am working with. The topics are mostly related to Java/J2EE, ranging from courses in object technology to usage and administration of application servers.

Feedback from my classes has always been positive, and sometimes overwhelmingly so. The reason for this is probably twofold: For one thing, I do enjoy teaching and bringing people to the point where they really begin to grasp a new concept. The other reason is that everything I teach comes from practical experience — I am not a "pure instructor" in the sense that I would only learn things in order to give seminars about them. I know them because I use the technology in my own day-to-day work.

Drawing from this experience, I can offer courses in a wide variety of topics. Some of them are listed below, but these should only be considered examples of courses I have already given, indicating the amount of time that is needed to cover a given subject. Depending on the particular needs of a customer, I can easily set up highly individual training sessions on just about any topic which I am familiar with. Please just let me know what you need.

Courses are usually on-site, at the location of the customer. Infrastructural needs on my own part are modest — just about any room that has enough space for me and the participants will do. It is best if it's a seminar room with a computer for each participant (I do a lot of hands-on work in my courses), but if that's not possible, participants can also do hands-on work at their own usual workplace. For myself, a beamer and a flipchart or whiteboard/blackboard is ideal; let me know if any of this is a problem.

These are examples of courses that I offer:
